Internet telephony, is a technology that allows us to use the Internet to perform several operations which were only done by telephone in the past. As the technology develops, we are seeing more ways to use it. In about the last year and a half, there have been many developments that enhance and improve on the technology, making it easier and more cost effective to use.

With these technologies, we can fax via the Internet, from computer to computer, from computer to fax machine, or from fax machine to fax machine. We can actually talk and listen to each other with a voice connection through our computers with an internet phone software. This concept opened the door to the possibility of doing business by phone from office to office through computers using special gateways which have been developed and set up on internet servers for this purpose. We can now also have telepbone contact from a business through their web pages by web callback.
